I recently sat down with Hilbert College senior Elias Todd. It was a conversation filled with laughs and excitement.

Ryan Zunner: So, Eli, tell us a little about yourself.

Elias Todd: I am from Mt. Morris, New York. Which is just outside of Letchworth State Park. I’m 23 and a DMaC major.

RZ: What do you like about Hilbert?

ET: I really like the small class size and how you get to know each of your professors in your major. You meet a lot of good people and it is a friendly environment.

RZ: Are you graduating this semester?

ET: No, I’ll be graduating after next semester in May.

RZ: If you could change one thing about the campus what would it be?

ET: The food; the food is just atrocious, and there are times I’d rather have fast food.

RZ: What are your some of your hobbies when you aren’t occupied with classes?

ET: I like to listen to music, hip hop mainly. I also enjoy basketball, fidget spinning, vaping, and watching movies.

RZ: Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

ET: Well, I’ll either be homeless or working on a big budget film in California.

RZ: Would you also be homeless in California?

ET: Yes, either way, I’d be in Cali.

RZ: What in particular draws you to filmmaking?

ET: I’ve made films as a kid and, growing up loving movies, this is just a perfect fit. I love the process and the creativity involved.

RZ: Any current film projects you are working on?

ET: Yes, I’m writing the script for a short film called Emily’s Wish.

RZ: Any hints you can give us about the film?

ET: It’s a horror/thriller-type film that’s being produced in the digital filmmaking class.

RZ: What is your dream car?

ET: A 1964 Chevy Impala SS convertible in mint green.

 

RZ: If you could have lunch with one famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

ET: If I could eat lunch with one famous person, it would have to be George R. R. Martin, the guy who wrote the Game of Thrones books. Because, as the final season of GoT is approaching, he still has two books to finish, and I have to know how it ends.”
