Last week the Hilbert Hawks baseball team boarded a bus to make the long journey to Auburdale, Fla. for their annual spring trip. The Hawks will make a quick stop to play one game against Bridgewater College in Virginia on March 1 on their way down south. The team will then make its way to Florida where they will play 8 games, giving the Hawks a chance to get a jump on their season, getting out of the snow to work on their game.
“The energy surrounding the program is infections right now,” Head Coach Drew Fritty said. “We feel as confident as ever heading into the upcoming season thanks in a large part to this year’s incoming class, which has shown that they’re ready to make an immediate impact on our program.”
Being ranked eighth out of 10 teams the Hawks look to gain some momentum down in Florida and bring it back to Hamburg and have a strong season.
”We’re ready to hit the ground running,” Fritty said. “Our focus right now is on preparing at a playoff game caliber so that we can get back to the AMCC postseason play again this spring.”
